We hope your 2025 is off to a fantastic start!
The last 6 weeks have been an amazing run for YoungTech. From Gen AI to DeepTech and beyond, we’ve delved into fascinating topics, heard from incredible speakers, and welcomed many new faces into our community.
We closed out January with “A Tale of Two Titans” featuring Minh Le (Stifel Bank) and Matt Wiliams (Pro.com) [read the recap here].
Before diving headfirst just two weeks later into “The Cost of Gen AI,” featuring Cameron Borumand (Founding Partner of Fuse) and David Tepper (Co-Founder & CEO of Pay-i), who explored the challenges and opportunities in the marginal benefits and costs of Gen AI (read the recap here).
Next, we had YoungTech x 9Zero DeepTech Pioneers with Katherine Sizov, David Alspaugh, and Jake Armenta, diving into Seattle’s emerging DeepTech scene (read the recap here).
As February came to a close, we had the privilege of co-hosting LlaMAPALOOZA Seattle, which highlighted speakers from AWS (Darko Mesaroš), Cerebras (Sarah Chieng), Meta (Justin Lee), and Ollama (Patrick Devine).
And finally as we jump into March we have the pleasure of co-hosting the CONVERGE Seattle AI Summit! There’s still time to register if you hurry!

Member Spotlight:

Ian Ito - Growth & GTM Ops at Statsig | Writer of SaaS Weekly
Born and raised in Hawaii, Ian Ito joined the Seattle startup scene as a founder, investor, and operator.
Ian currently runs the growth function at Statsig, working across the go-to-market organization to find scalable ways to grow the business. As one of the early operators, he has witnessed Statsig transition from a small startup to a "scaleup," growing from $10M to over $25M in revenue.
Before Statsig, Ian worked in growth equity, investing in vertical B2B SaaS companies and helping them scale.
On the side, Ian runs SaaS Weekly, a newsletter with over 4,500 subscribers. Each week, he writes about the latest SaaS trends, growth strategies, and reflections on his failed startups.
Ian joined YoungTech to meet like-minded professionals and share his learnings and failures with the next generation of tech workers. He has strong conviction about the Seattle startup scene. Ian writes:
"Seattle is a small community, but it's vibrant. There is a lot of innovation that goes on unannounced. I'm excited for communities like YoungTech to showcase the activity and passion that happens behind the scenes."

Bridgetown Raises $19M - Seattle startup Bridgetown Research, which uses AI agents to automate research tasks for investment firms and corporate teams, raised $19 million in a Series A round led by Lightspeed and Accel (learn more).
Privacy License Helps Companies Stay Compliant with Evolving Privacy Laws - Seattle-based Privacy License provides businesses with AI-powered privacy agents to analyze regulations, audit policies, and automate data discovery (learn more).
Lumen Orbit Changes Name to Starcloud and Raises $10M - Seattle-based space data center startup Lumen Orbit has rebranded to Starcloud and raised $10 million to expand its operations and develop new technologies (learn more).
