March & April have been the season of hangouts. From a fantastic happy hour with J.P. Morgan mid-March, to ending the month with a happy hour with Trilogy, to a mid-April coffee chat, we’ve had a great time meeting new faces, and sharing a few beers (and coffees).

  • Fortson raises $50M — Seattle’s got a new venture fund.

    Fortson VC has raised $50 million to invest in early stage software startups in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Geekwire

  • Khosla joins Madrona to back Ravenna — Seattle startup Ravenna has raised $15 million from top-tier venture capital firms and notable angel investors to streamline how companies handle internal help desk requests. Geekwire

  • Plug and Play selects 10 startups — Plug and Play is off and running with the inaugural batch of startups selected for an accelerator program based out of the innovation group’s new Seattle location. Three Pacific Northwest companies are among the 10 that will participate in a 12-week program starting this month and running through the end of June. Geekwire

  • Redfin to Be Acquired in $1.75 Billion Deal – Redfin, a Seattle-based real estate technology company, agreed to be acquired by a mortgage heavyweight in a $1.75 billion deal. CEO Glenn Kelman stated that without the acquisition, Redfin would have been "stripped for parts." The Business Journals

  • Contentstack Acquires Lytics – Contentstack, a leading content management system provider, acquired Portland-based customer data platform startup Lytics, aiming to enhance its data-driven marketing solutions. Voyager Capital
